Summary

DBW FilmCalc does not collect, store, share or sell any personal information. It has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. It works entirely on your iPhone, without an internet connection.

What the app does with your data

• Calculations. The lens focal length, bellows extension, film and exposure times you enter are used only to work out the result on your device. They are not sent anywhere and are not kept once you close or reset them.
• Settings. The app remembers a few preferences on your device only: sound on or off, haptics on or off, the final ten second countdown, light, dark or system appearance, night mode, and the film you last chose. These are stored locally using Apple’s standard on-device storage and are removed if you delete the app.
• No permissions. The app does not ask for access to your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, location, notifications or any other personal data.

What the app does not do

• It does not collect any personal information or usage data.
• It does not use third-party analytics, advertising or tracking software.
• It does not connect to any server for its calculations or features.
• It does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
• It does not require you to create an account or sign in.

Links to other websites

Some screens contain links that open in your web browser: the Digital Black & White website, and the manufacturers’ published technical documents that the film data comes from. When you open a link you leave the app and the destination website’s own privacy policy applies. We do not control those sites.

Apple

If you have chosen to share app analytics or crash information with developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymous statistics through App Store Connect. This is controlled by Apple and your device settings, and does not identify you. Downloads and purchases are handled by Apple under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy.

Children

The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this policy and the effective date above before the change is released.
